How to Comment

Watch this video to find out how to leave a comment on our blog. We love receiving comments!

How to leave a comment…

We ask parents who leave comments to please only use their first name if they do not wish to identify their child.

Leaving a comment is as simple as this…

  1. Click on the heading of the post you wish to comment on.
  2. Scroll down until you can see the “Leave a Comment” section.
  3. You will be asked for your name and email address/website (email and website is optional and will not be published).
  4. You will also need to write the “spam word”.
  5. Click “submit comment”.
  6. Your comment WILL NOT appear straight away. It is emailed to Mrs Morris or Miss Jordan to check first. If your comment is okay it will soon appear on the blog!

How to write a good quality comment…

Tip so you don’t lose your comment …

1. Write your comment as normal.

2. Before you press “submit”, highlight all your text by putting your mouse in the comment box and pressing control A OR holding down your mouse button down and dragging it over all of your words.

3. Copy your text by right clicking and pressing copy OR pressing control C.

4. You don’t need to do anything else BUT if you lose your comment for some reason (internet crashes or you put in the wrong spam word) you won’t have lost your comment. You can just press paste (right mouse click – paste OR control V) and your comment will appear. Voila!

  1. Hello Kathleen and Kelly,
We met last Monday at your PD. I hope you don’t mind – I have posted your ‘How To Comment’ information poster on my blog. I have attributed it to you and it features your logo. Would you mind checking it out and letting me know if you are comfortable with it? If you are ok with it, is it ok if my 2 Grade 5 colleagues also post it on their blogs?
Kylie Miller, New Gisborne Primary School.

    • Hi Mrs Miller,

Yes, please go ahead and use the poster. We don’t mind if your colleagues use it too!

Your blog is looking fantastic. I hope the children really get a lot out of it this year. Our new grade fours are enjoying learning about blogging and it’s great to see them writing quality comments already.

      Best wishes,
      Mrs Kathleen M☀rris

  3. Hi Kathleen and Kelly,

Your new blog looks fantastic! My grade is just getting started with a blog and I have already spoken to you about using your blog guidelines. I was wondering if we can also use your comment guidelines? This is students and my first blog!

We have just had approval from my principal to go ahead and we are very excited! I am a Grade 5 teacher in Werribee and my class and I went to Maldon camp last year for Bike ED. I am sure my students would love to talk to your students as it gets closer to your camp!

Our blog’s address is if you would like to have a look.

Thank you for all your wonderful advice!

  12. Dear 4km and 4kj,
Wow! Your blog is awesome! The picture you sent up DOES remind me of spring but in Australia Darwin we dont have spring. We only have 2 seasons and that is Dry season and Wet season. Our Wet season is going to be the worst because of the heat! It is already getting very hot. Im lucky that I have a pool at home!

  19. Hello Kathleen, Kelly, 4KM & 4KJ,
I taught at Leopold PS 2 years ago and was inspired while there with your fabulous blogging and the huge benefits to student’s learning. I am now back in the United States and am sitting in a Learning to Blog, Blogging to Learn class! I shared your class blog with the other participants in the class. I have enjoyed looking through your class blog and sharing some of your learning journey. Keep up the good work, and hopefully when I get my new class in August we will be ready to blog too! I would love to be involved in some of your learning around the world activities!
Mrs Sharon Bossie (I used to be Ms Reid)

    • Hi Mrs Bossie,

How great to hear from you. Miss Jordan and I were so pleased to read that you’re getting into blogging. Thank you for sharing our blog!

Enjoy your upcoming summer break and we hope to hear from you again.

      Best wishes,

  20. Hi Kath and Kelly

You blog is proving to be an inspiration to us since it was recommended for us to use as a model.

I wondered if you would mind us using the How to Comment information on our own blog at ? I don’t think we can put it any better than you have here and our students have been inspired by what is happening on your blog.

    Chris Vine

    • Hi Chris,

Thank you for your kind words about our blog. I hope your students enjoy blogging as much as ours do!

That’s fine for you to use the “How to Comment” information that we have on our blog. Perhaps you could mention where it came from originally.

Thank you for asking, it’s always appreciated!

      Kind regards,
