Fitness Fun

This morning, the grade four students were scheduled to participate in an hour of tabloid sports outside, which was organised by the grade six P.E elective group.

Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and it started pouring with rain just as we were about to head out! Instead, we made our way to the LINC (our school gym) for some indoor fitness with our P.E teacher, Mr Hair.

Watching the big screen, the first challenge was for students to complete a fitness routine using the website Fitness Blender. The instructor modelled each exercise and the students followed his moves. The workout included sets of four different excercises:

  • Burpees
  • Side lunges
  • Push Ups
  • Jumping lunges.

We started at 10 repetitions for each exercise and decreased it by one each time. We definitely worked up a sweat by the end!

Afterwards, Mr Hair put Just Dance on the screen and students showed off their dancing skills whilst following the actions on the screen. There was lots of singing, dancing and fun!

    Today I had great fun joining in with all the exercises and all the other moves. We had to do all the things Push Ups and all other kinds of things. We had to do all those things and start from 10 for all and then 9 then 8 then 7 then 6 then 5 then 4 then 3 then 2 and then 1 it was hard but i still did it keep up the good work.

        Wow, when we looked on the blog today it was very good to see all the comments. Well I should not say good, I should say really great!

        It is so good that you do that every time someone leaves a comment and I hope you do it in the holidays but you don’t have to.

        I think that everyone in our grade thinks that you are an amazing blogger. If you are going to be a teacher I think that you would be great at teaching the kids how to blog.

    I enjoyed all of it. But i really liked the fitness blender because it was a big challenge.

    My top three favourite exercises are:

    1st: Go karting
    3rd: Swimming 2nd: Running

    I think exercising is important because it helps you to keep fit and it is really fun. I love exercising!

      Go Kart racing must be fun because you are always telling us about it. I have always wanted to race one but I don’t think that will ever happen.

      I prefer just t do handstands or something like a girl would do. Footy is alright though.

        I agree about what you said. I would like to go Go Cart Racing but I don’t know if I ever will. I like to do handstands but as you say I like playing football.
        I sometimes play it with you.

        I think that sport is a great thing to do. This blog post is all about sport. It was very fun to do the fitness thing. I enjoyed Just Dance 4 as well.

        It is fun when we do Just Dance 4 in sport and I hope we do it next week to.

  3. Hi 4KJ and Miss Jordan,

    Those photos were so funny especially the one with me (the first photo) with my mouth wide open. I just think it’s so funny! :D

    For our morning fitness I mostly enjoyed Just Dance and I particularly liked dancing to Gangnam Style! It was really fun!

    My favourite kind of exercise is definitely HORSE RIDING!

    Horse riding is my favourite exercise because I love horses and I love riding them. I don’t think I would ever survive with out horses in the world. I especially love riding Teddy!

      I think if you didn’t know what horses were then you would live perfectly fine without them but now that you know what they are I don’t think the universe will be able to stop you from riding them.

      Teddy is a cute horse and I understand where you are coming from when you say you love him.

      It was no big surprise that your favourite thing to do is ride horses and I also understand where you are coming with that because when I cam to WPEC I found it really fun!

    The Fitness and just dance was fun and I realy liked the photo of mitchell doing push ups and me with two thumbs up.

    My favouite part was doing the Side lunges and Jumping lunges and the favouite just dance song was Gangnam syle!.

    I really enjoyed this activity but I did no enjoy burpees and great blog post Miss Jordan! I enjoyed it
    so much I wonted to do it again and it was sad that we did no get to go outside. I loved the Just Dance when the One Direction song came on there where not that much people on the dance floor.

      I know why there wasn’t that much dances on the floor when the One Direction song came in and I think we both know why.

      It doesn’t hurt you to join in the fun by doing the dance and it was a great dance. I have done it many times before because I have got all of the just dances and the new one!

      It is a great way to keep you fit and a great thing to have them all on you tube.

      You know my fingers aren’t even hurting yet even though I have been typing for a while now.

      I am so used to it and this is why I type at home: to practice for sore fingers!

    I enjoyed the Just Dance my favourite song was Gangnamstyle dance because there was some funny things you had to do.

    My favourite exorcise would be the burpees from the fitness blender It was hard but I think we all got through in the end.

    There are meany reasons why you should do exorcise because It keeps you fit. :mrgreen:

      The fitness was a great way to start our day and I think it all made us very tired except for a couple of boys that wanted to do it again!

      I knew that when Gangnam Style came on it would get a lot of dancers involved because it is a big hit and even today it is still peoples favourite song.

    I really enjoyed working out I wish it wasn’t cancelled but at least we did it in the LINC. I enjoyed the Fitness Blender it wasn’t actually hard. Just Dance definitely is not my favourite game but was still fun. Except for when we had to dance to One Direction.

      I sounds like you are interested in a lot of sports. I new you would be though because you are so fast.

      At least you tried to dance to One Direction right? mean they are not the best for some people but they are still awesome to me!

      Doing fitness in a morning is very important because it lets you get rid of most of you riggly jigglys that are normally still locked up inside.

      But at least for us they weren’t and they were flushed into the LINC.

  9. Hello 4KJ,

    It was funny seeing all the photos. I never knew that people could have so much fun during really hard exercises. I know one thing for sure, Connor and the thumbs up will make it to the Hall of Fame.

    Doing these workouts were hard and if you want to have a go yourself the website we used was Fitness Blender. These workouts are challenging if you want to try them at home. I recommend not to eat or drink within 10 minutes before your workout so you don’t get a stitch.

    My favourite kind of exercise is Squats and Wall sits because I like to work the lower body more than upper body. Squats are hard even though they are my favourite. There are a whole lot of different types of squats. My favourite Squat is a Squat and with a kick to the side. Wall sits are challenging (I do like hard workouts) and I do them for about one minute. Sometimes I do them for two minutes.

    It is important to exercise because you can keep fit and be healthy. Being healthy is important because you can live well on this world and have a rare chance of being sick. Keeping fit is also important because it helps you be healthy. Most people that are Fit and Healthy are lucky because there are some people who can not be Fit or are not Healthy.

    I really enjoyed having a fitness for 40 minutes. I wish it wasn’t cancelled but I still had fun anyway.

    I enjoyed all of it but what I most enjoyed was probably the fitness test.

    My favourite exercise is Football, Under Water Hockey and Running

    It is healthy and fun

        I am just the same with Bike Riding. And now it is a good hobby that I love to do.

        I would never like it more then blogging or singing.

        It is a great thing to do and god exercise for your body.

        I love to stay fit and healthy and I think I a going to stay that way forever.

        I think that because I am sit and young at the moment and love to play sports which will help.

        I think if I don’t become any of the things I said this morning I will be a netball player and represent Australia.

    What I enjoyed of the fitness morning was probably doing everything even Fitness Blender.

    When it was for jumping lunges Heath and I did our daily walk to so we jumped and walked at the same time heath and I thought it was funny witch it was.

    My favorite kind of exercise is probably push ups and sit ups are probably my most favorite exercises.

    I think it’s important to exercise because it helps your muscles grow and it gives you more strength in your body.

    This is one excellent post by Miss Jordan! :smile:

    I would have liked to have to have the tabloid sports outside on but, the fitness blender and Just dance filled in the fun.

    FITNESS BLENDER:

    The fitness blender was a tough one! As Miss Jordan said we started at 10 repetitions and decreased by 1 each time we had finished a full 10.

    I found the burpees looking quite hard but in the end I got the hang of it.

    JUST DANCE:

    I really loved the Just Danes but some of the dances were a little different and weird!

    I enjoyed looking at all of the photos! Some of them were hilarious! I thought that Connor.L was the most funny!

    Well I have a lot to say but…………………………

    Thanks Miss Jordan for writing up this blog post. It was so nice of you to leave it and I am so glad that you put one up about this.

    You must be a really fast typer to get it all in on time for us to then leave comments on later on that same day you put it up.

    I was so glad when I found out we were going to be doing some fitness things and it made me very happy!

    Doing Just Dance is a normal thing for me because I always do it at home on my Wii or my laptop like Mr. Hair does.

    I know we all had a great time and would like to do it again soon. It would even be better if we could do something similar!

    When I found out we were doing both of these things together I was more then happy and a lot more!

    I hope that you injoyed the fitness activety Well i did.
    I as diseponted that we couldn’t do the activty that was planed first but thats ok.
