Glogster

Today the students in 4KM and 4KJ learnt how to use Glogster.

Glogster is an online tool that allows you to make interactive posters, or “glogs”. The word glog is short for graphical blog.

You can add text, images, photos, audio, video and special effects to create a glog, and finished glogs can be embedded into blogs so they can be shared with everyone. Glogster is easy and fun to use!

We used Glogster today to create reflections about Term Two in 4KM and 4KJ. It was fun to remember all the fun we have had and the new things we have learnt.

Here are some of our Term Two reflection glogs

*Hover over the GlogsterEDU logo on each glog and select “view full size” to see the glogs more clearly*

What do you think of our glogs?

Have you used Glogster before?

What would you make a glog about?

  1. Hi 4KM and 4KJ,

Great post, I loved using Glogster and I think doing it about the term two reflection or the other choice bike safety.

I remember doing Glogster in 2KM and 2KJ, and I remember doing Story Bird as well, they were really fun.

I think the glogs look really cool and I am sure that heaps of people would want to do this at home, I did one about 4KM and 4KJ just then, when me and Yunus went into the middle room to try it out I did one about my family.

Using Glogster is really fun, I think it is a great way to learn new skills. I like how you can have moving animals and make videos and put them on the glog.

I have used Glogster before like I said before I used it in 2KM and 2KJ when all of the other people went swimming.

When I make a glog next I will probably do it about my dog or my favourite thing, maybe even about me, but of course no personal information!

Great post once again and happy blogging!

    Your blogging pal,
    Meg

    • To Meg,

I think Glogstar was awesome because you could do lots of fun things on it like use cool speech bubbles, change the back round, use animated graphics and lots lots more.

I got on Glogstar as soon as I got home. I made it all about my family.

      That’s all for now.

      see you soon,
      Anthony πŸ™‚

    • Hi Meg,

What a great and huge comment you left! Wow.

I remember glogster from grade two too. I didn’t do it though because I went swimming but I really wanted too. I also remember Story bird and we shared ours with Mr Avery’s grade or Mr Salshic’s I can’t remember.

I agree using glogster is really fun and you do get to learn heaps of new things.
I think that glogs and glogster is awesome!

That’s a good idea to do a glog about you or your dog!

      Got 2 gallop,
      Ava

      • Hi Ava again,

You are doing great with your comments and as I said before keep on going.

I think that making our Glogsters were fun and I wish we could do it again.

I would have used some ideas from some of the other ones that were put on the blog because they were great.

        Have fun ❗

        Liv πŸ˜†

  2. Hi 4KM and 4KJ,

    Wonderful blog post!

Thanks for putting my glog on the blog Miss Jordan.

As I said earlier that I thought the glogs looked great. I have used glogster before because we used it in class today and my glog got put up on the blog.

I would love to make my glog about horses and ponies also one about a beautiful horse I ride named Beau. If you are wondering what Beau looks like or about him visit my blog post about him or there is my avatar picture when I leave a comment. I might do a glog about horses and ponies but before I do that I would probably do one about my pets.

I think that making a Glogster was really fun and I am sure Ava told you about it because she had lots of fun.

  7. Hello 4KM and 4KJ,

The glogs are bright and colourful. They are a great intro into Glogster. There was a problem, on seeing your glogs, I had to try setting one up myself. I wanted to know how it worked.

As a subject, I started a glog entitled, “The Life of Sapphire the Koala”. It shows a little about Sapphire from her beginning to now two years old.

    • Hi Ross Mannell,

      Thanks for the awesome comment!

You’re right all the glogs are very colourful.

There was one problem with your glog, it didn’t come up. We were all wondering why it didn’t come up with the link. When we clicked on the link it just turned into a blank screen. Do you know what happened with that?

We would all really like to see your glog Ross! Anyway.

      Got to Gallop,
      Ava πŸ˜›

      • Hi Ava,

As I see you are just doing some replying. That is great to see and that is also what i am doing.

I was just looking and I saw that this will turn out to be turning into a skinny comment because of the amount that is getting writtern.

I think that you have also done a really great job with the replying you have done in this post and I am very proud of you.

Keep up your wonderful blogging skills and your posts you have on your blog ❗

        From,
        Liv πŸ˜› πŸ˜†

      • Hi Ava,

It’s possible I was updating the glog when you tried to access it. This would most likely cause it to fail when you tried to access.

It looks as though Jordi was able to access it a little later. You can let me know if there are future problems.

        Ross Mannell

        • Hi Ross,

          Thanks for the reply!

Oh, so that must be the problem why we couldn’t access it. I will try again straight after this comment.

Okay I will let you know if there are future problems and I’m glad Jordi got to it.

          Got 2 gallop,
          Ava

    • Hi Ross,

      Thanks for the comment!

Your glog is amazing, and I thought Saffhire the Koala is very cute… Blinky, Suzie and Saffhire are all very cute.

      From,
      Jordi

      • Hey Av’s,

Nice commenting. I think Ross Mannell will look at it as soon as he gets a chance.

Thanks also for the comments and the replying you are doing on this post.

Great job and keep up the great work with it as well. ❗

  8. Hi 4KM and 4KJ,

I really enjoyed doing the glogs. I wish I was at school today. Here are the answers to the questions.

    Q. What do you think of the glogs?
    A. All four are great I can see why they are on the blog.

    Q. Have you used glogster before.
    A. No. But it is alot of fun when I tried it yesterday.

    Q. What would you make a glog about.
    A. I would make it about SPORT!

    Once again great post,
    Fro πŸ˜› Darcy 😎

    • Hello Darcy,

      great comment.

I love all the glogs too.

I’m going to make one to night about my pets.

      Your pal,
      Anthony

      • Hey Anthony,

Great to hear you are going to be making a Glog tonight about your pets.

I think i might do one to because now my mum has connected me to the internet.

I had so much fun making them in class and I think that everyone else had fun too.

I know that I need to learn how to make a video because that is the only thing I couldn’t do in it.

I had fun adding all of the text boxes.

        Liv πŸ˜†

  9. Hi 4KM and 4KJ,

    First of all great post!

I really loved all four of the Glogster’s. They were all so interesting and I am sure that everyone else did excellent one’s too!

I have never used Glogster before. I have been on the website though and I didn’t join up because you had to sign up and not just make one.

If I could make a Glogster about anything I would make it about my pet’s or something like that, that doesn’t give away to much personal information.

My class may of done it when I was away from school, but it would be a great experience if we could do it in our class(4PR).

If I could all I would write in post would be Great Post! But I am definitely not going to do that

I just need to say this again, Great Post!

Also good luck for the future for your oncoming posts.

    Best Wishes,
    Hannah (4PR)

    • Hey Hannah,

Thank you so much for the comment on our blog. I was wondering if you had a class blog and a student blog because if you do I could check them out.

Making a Glog was really fun and I am guessing you did it back when you were in grade two.

Thank you for the good luck with our oncoming posts because I will always remember to keep that in mind for the future.

Keep up your great blog comments and remember you don’t have to comment on our blog I am guessing you just do it for fun.

  11. Dear 4KM and 4KJ,

Great blog post and well done to the students who got theirs put on the blog. If it was on the blog like it is then it must have been pretty good and got lots of people who said they liked it.

I would say you have all done a great job even the people who didn’t get theirs put on the blog which is OK because I know I didn’t.

Great to see Ava, Hallie and Ross Mannell leaving some great comments on this post and they were all high quality ones.

Making a Glogster was really fun and you can get me to do it any day if you want because I had so much fun and could do them all over again.

It is a shame it didn’t work towards the start of the year but at least it works now. It is also a good time because it is nearly the end of Term Two and being with Mrs Morris so at least we got to do this with her.

I would make a glog about my family because of course they mean an awful lot to me and I could write about all of the things they do for me.

I liked all of the glogs because it looked like everyone had a fair crack at it and got theirs on te blog like I am sure they would have wanted.

And lastly yes of course I have used glogster before because I was also here when we did them and had some fun with it.

Have fun if you try and make one at home with your families ❗

    From the one and only,
    Liv πŸ˜† ♥

I love reading your blog and keeping up with what you do in your classroom and around your school!

My students love to use Glogster also and I love to post their work on our blog also. I am just wondering how you get the image of their page onto your blog so that viewers can see them when they go onto your page!

Thankyou for your help in advance!
