Cross Country

Today was the annual Leopold Primary School Cross Country!

The conditions were perfect for running, and many parents and relatives attended to cheer on the students.

The Cross Country event was held on the school oval and all students from Prep to Grade Six were involved. The students in the 8/9/10 age group had to run a challenging 1.2km route around the school grounds. The 11/12 years age group had to complete the course twice, running a total of 2.4km.

Here is a bird’s eye view of the route the Grade Three to Six students ran.

Here are some photos of the 4KM and 4KJ students before their run!

To reflect on the event, students typed a recount of the Cross Country on their netbooks.

Here are the recounts written by Meg, Jude and Ava.

Well done to all of the Leopold Primary School students for their fantastic effort today!

4KM and 4KJ would like to thank our P.E co-ordinator, Mr Hair, for his excellent organisation of the Cross Country!

What did you think of the Cross Country?

Do you have a goal for next year’s Cross Country event?

Have you ever participated in a race before?

  1. Hi Miss Jordan,

I had a fun time at the Cross Country today and had butterflies in my stomach, I even had them once the race had finished. I think I came in the top 20.

My goal for Cross Country next year is to get into the top ten, I had a feeling that I would this year but I didn’t. 🙁 Maybe next year.

I have run in some races but I am not sure if any of them were out side of school.

    Bye For Now,
    Haille. 😆 🙂

  9. Dear Miss Jordan and Mrs Morris,
Great post about the Cross Country. It was too bad I was sick on the day of the cross country so I couldn’t do it.

I hope to come in the top 20 in my last year of primary school for the cross country next year.

I have been in some races with athletics and fun run’s but not any major races.
Here’s the link to my blog if you want to check it out.
