Spring is here, and Happy Father’s Day!

Today, Saturday 1st September, is the first day of spring in Australia.

After a cold and wet winter in Victoria, we are all looking forward to the start of a new season. In fact, Geelong has had its wettest winter in nearly 30 years! Spring lasts for three months; September, October and November.

Does this image remind you of spring?

The first Sunday in September, which is tomorrow, also marks a special day. It is Father’s Day!

Father’s Day is a day where we thank and celebrate our fantastic dads.

Lots of students have special plans to celebrate Father’s Day and I am sure all of the 4KM and 4KJ dads will enjoy the day with their families.

    • @ Chloe,

You are already turning into an amazing blogger, since you are quite knew to the school.

I too like the post about Spring and Father’s Day.

I like celebrating Father’s Day with my Dad by spoiling him with lots of great presents.

  3. Dear 4KM and 4KJ,

    What a great post!

I am glad it is spring! This morning it was pretty bad but look at the weather now! I think our weather will improve a lot. The downside about spring is that you get really bad hay fever. It really annoys me.

I can’t wait until Father’s Day! My brother and I have heaps of presents and we can’t wait to give them to our Dad.

On Father’s Day my family (Mum, Dad and brother) and going to the Barking Dog (a restaurant)for lunch.

    • Dear Skye,

What an expert comment from an expert blogger! I agree that this Father’s Day and Spring post is amazing.

I am so glad it is spring too! I really truly did miss the nice warm weather during winter.

You are right, the only downside is you get hay fever, it annoys me like crazy.

I hope you had a fantastic Father’s Day, I know my Dad did. My family went to Eastern Beach and we walked our dogs, and what a nice spring day it was!

I have never heard of the Barking Dog, is it a good restaurant?

      Your friend,
      Liv 😉

  4. Dear 4KM and 4KJ,

    Jessica here again 🙂

I think that this is a great idea for a post.
What I enjoy about Spring? Well Spring for me is one of the best seasons of the year because it is never too hot or cold. It is also a season where you can wear all the pretty Spring colour clothes e.g. light pink, peach, light blue e.t.c.
My Dad and I are going to go out shopping tomorrow and possibly have some pasta for lunch. And of course I’m going to be giving him a HUGE present…

    Keep up the fantastic work!

From your new blogging buddy Jess 🙂

  5. Dear 4KM & 4KJ
I wish you a drier and warmer spring! Here in England we have just had the WETTEST summer for 100 YEARS! We are at the very end of our 6 week summer holiday and start back at school on Monday, but we haven’t had much chance to get into shorts and flip flops this year!

We celebrate Father’s Day in June. Hope you’ve all enjoyed your Father’s Days!

    • Dear Mrs Monaghan,

Thanks for leaving a great comment on our blog!

I hope we have a warm spring. I can see the weather improving a lot. The sky is blue right now with only a bit of clouds.

Wow, you had the wettest summer for 100 years! 🙂

I hope you enjoy it when you go back to school. Our end of year school holidays is a long way away.

  6. Dear 4KM and 4KJ

I hope all of the dads, granddads and/or great granddads had a wonderful Father’s Day. On Thursday and Friday I had been helping parents on the Father’s Day stall at my local school. We almost sold out of everything we had.

Now for Spring. Has Spring really begun? Here is one of my extended comments for you.

As usual, remember I am not an expert, just interested in many things. If I find I have made any mistakes, I will edit the comment.

    • Dear Ross,

Thanks for leaving a long, quality comment on our blog!

I think my dad had a great Father’s Day. He was sure spoilt by my brother and I. I like going to the Father’s Day Stall! It is fun looking for things to by your dad.

Thanks for making an extended comment for us. You put a lot of effort into it! I like all of the photos you have taken.

I like spring because it is not too cold or too warm and also because the flowers bloom. The only downside about spring is that you get hay fever. It really annoys me.

      • Dear Skye,

I think your feelings about spring are shared by many. Not too hot, not too cold, flowers blooming and hay fever sneezing sums spring up for many including my mother. With my love of the outdoors and photography, I am one of the lucky people without hayfever. 🙂

        • Dear Ross,

Thanks for replying to me, you are a wonderful blogger!

You are so lucky that you don’t get hay fever. Hay Fever makes me feel miserable.

I walked past a house this morning and you should have seen how beautiful their daises were. They were white.

          • Sorry Ross, I forgot to type something.

It says the time each time a comment is published and it said that your first comment was published at 12:19am. Is that true?

-We went and had lunch with my Nan and Pop and then my Gran and Grandpa rang dad to see if he wanted to have tea lunch with them. So we said goodbye to nan and pop and drove to gran and grandpa’s to have another great lunch. When we got back we all felt very sick.
-After a great day of eating and having fun we had a delightful dinner.
